United Airlines offers an account where you can store/purchase credits for future travel. The credits are typically valid for 5 years after purchase.

Where Can I Look Up My United TravelBank Balance?

You can find your TravelBank Cash balance by logging into your United Account at the following link:

https://www.united.com/en/US/account/travelbank

United did a nice job of showing details of your TravelBank Cash purchases and will display:

  • Total account balance
  • All TravelBank credits earned and redeemed
  • Expiration date for all TravelBank cash transactions

How Do I Buy United TravelBank Cash Credits?

To buy United TravelBank Cash credits you must go to a different URL:

https://www.united.com/offers/travelcash

To purchase your TravelBank credits, you must first log into your United Airlines account.

Next you may select the denomination of TravelCash purchase you would like to make:

You can purchase TravelBank Cash credits in $50, $100, $250, $500, $750, and $1,000 amounts. Once you select the amount you want, you can complete your purchase using a credit card (United automatically shows the credit cards you have registered to your account below).

After you complete your purchase you will receive the confirmation below with the purchase date and transaction number.

What Credit Cards Does United TravelBank Count as Airline Incidental Credits?

United TravelBank Cash transactions will count as airline incidental credits for many credit cards. Some people prefer to bank TravelBank Cash since they are still not traveling this year and would like to use their airline credits before they expire. Some credit cards that will reimburse you for this United Travel Cash purchase are:

  • American Express Platinum (Personal/Business)
  • American Express Gold (Personal/Business)
  • American Express Hilton Aspire
  • American Express Charles Schwab Platinum
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve
  • Bank of America Premium Rewards
