Hyatt Get More Play More Promotion

As you all know, the promotion activity so far this year as been VERY lackluster. Could it be the Marriott-Starwood merger keeping the marketing folks busy thinking of the myriad ways to reward members when they combine loyalty programs just like the airlines have done?

Fortunately, Hyatt just released a decent promotion called “Stay More Play More” where you can earn up to 75,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points after 25 nights. It’s actually not a bad promotion, and is almost exactly the same as the one they ran last summer. You earn bonuses based on the following:

Nights Bonus Points Total Bonus Points
5 nights 5,000 points 5,000 points
10 nights 10,000 points 15,000 points
15 nights 15,000 points 30,000 points
20 nights 20,000 points 50,000 points
25 nights 25,000 points 75,000 points

As you can see the bonuses get really big after 15 nights, so this definitely favors road warriors who can put in a huge block of nights with Hyatt. Unfortunately we all know that their footprint is quite lacking outside of big cities, and their rates are not the most competitive, so it might behoove some of you to hit the mattress run trail near the end of the promotion period (June 30th) to ensure you hit that next tier.

What Stays Count Toward The Promotion?

Pretty much any paid stay counts toward the promotion as long as you do not book it through a 3rd party website like Expedia, Orbitz, Booking.com, or Priceline. Hyatt defines “Eligible Nights” as any night where a member pays an Eligible Rate regardless of the number of rooms paid and the member must choose points or miles for their stay.

As with their previous promotion Points + Cash stays DO COUNT toward the promotion. I personally had to do 3 Points + Cash mattress run stays last year to earn both the 15 night point bonus and qualify for Hyatt Diamond status, so I can attest to the fact that Points + Cash stays indeed count as an eligible rate and qualify for this promotion.

How Do I Register for The Stay More Play More Promotion?

You must register for the promotion in order to earn the bonus. You can register by following this link. Remember that the bonus period ends on June 30, 2016.
