Everything About Banana Republic Rewards Cards

Posted on January 29, 2014 by savermetrics

One of the best benefits of the Banana Republic Luxe Card is the fact that you earn 5 points per dollar spent at Banana Republic and Gap Family stores (Gap, Old Navy, Athleta, Piperlime). The points are redeemable for Banana Republic Rewards at 1,000 points = $10 rewards certificate. Every time your account accumulates 1,000 points, the points are converted into a rewards card that is issued to you either by mail (if you receive your statements by mail, or is available online if you receive paperless statements.

How Do I Use Banana Republic Rewards Cards?

The rewards certificates are valid toward any purchase at Banana Republic. There are some restrictions:

  • Rewards can be redeemed in store, online, via phone, or mail
  • You can redeem up to three rewards cards on a single item purchase
  • Rewards Cards can be combined with ANY promotional offer
  • Rewards Cards can be used to purchase items on sale at any store location
  • The purchase must be greater than the value of the Banana Republic Rewards coupon
  • Rewards Cards are valid for 6 months from date of issue

Redeeming a Banana Republic rewards card is very easy, especially in store. If you signed up for paperless statements, and have not printed out the rewards card, you can simply go to BananaRepublic.com, log into your account and pull up the rewards card, which the cashier will use to apply to your purchase.

What If I Return An Item Purchased With a Banana Republic Rewards Card?

If you return an item that was purchased with a rewards coupon, the dollar value of the rewards card applied to the merchandise will be converted to reward points and credited to your account within the next 2 billing cycles.

When Do Banana Republic Points Expire?

Banana Republic points expire 24 months after they are earn if they are not converted to a rewards card.

Banana Republic Rewards Card Extension

Keep in mind that returning an item that was purchased with a Banana Republic rewards card can be a good strategy to extend the life of your rewards. Since a rewards certificate expires after 6 months from date of issue, you could simply purchase an item using the rewards card, then return it and dollar value of the points would get put back into your account. Since points don’t expire for 24 months from date of issue, you can then earn another rewards card once you hit 1,000 points.

I’m not sure if I understand if my rewards certificate had expired 2 weeks ago. I was hoping you could put extension since we were and are dealing with a health crisis. Would you please get back to me so I can go shopping in hopes that I may apply this to purchases.

I would suggest calling Banana Republic at 888-277-8953 and requesting that the extend/reissue the expired certificate. I am willing to bet that they will extend it for at least another 30 days. Good luck!
