Ritz Carlton Rewards is now offering double elite qualifying nights for all stays in 2014. All you need to do is make sure you are a member of the Ritz Carlton Rewards program and register for the promotion. The terms of the promotion say that for each qualifying stay at a participating Ritz Carlton property you will receive 2 elite night credits for each night of your stay. This means that if you have a 10 night Ritz Carlton stay, you will receive 20 nights! The stay must be made in 2014 to count.
Can I Participate if I am A Marriott Rewards Member?
If you are a Marriott Rewards member, and you want to register for the Ritz Carlton double elite night promotion, you must first switch your account to Ritz Carlton Rewards first, and then register. In a previous post I detailed how it is very easy to switch from Marriott Rewards to Ritz Carlton.
Faster Way to Earn Lifetime Marriott Elite Status
This promotion is also an ideal way to earn Marriott Lifetime Elite Status. Since each night will count double toward both earning status for this year and next year, and also counting toward Marriott Lifetime Gold and Platinum Elite status.
Which Nights Qualify for Ritz Carlton Double Elite Nights Promotion?
Unfortunately you must have been a member of the Ritz Carlton Rewards program when you completed your stay in order for the double nights promotion to have counted. If you were a Marriott Rewards member when the stay took place, then you will not receive retroactive credit for that stay.
Considering that most hotel loyalty program promotions are getting worse and worse as the economy gets better, especially when it comes to elite benefits, this is a welcome promotion. Of course, many of us cannot afford the Ritz Carlton and they have a very small footprint compared to Marriott, Hilton, and Starwood, but this might be worth it for the status and lifetime qualification.
