Amex LA Restaurant Week Bonus

Posted on July 8, 2014August 11, 2014 by savermetrics

American Express is now offering a Los Angeles Restaurant Week promotion where you can get $5 back after spending $21 at a participating restaurant. Amex has done an LA restaurant week promo for the last 3-4 years, and unfortunately the promotion has gotten less and less generous over the years. Still, if you are foodie and plan on dining at any of the dozens of restaurants on the list, then this is a total no-brainer. Los Angeles restaurant week runs from July 14-27, so you have two full weeks to take advantage of this offer. Just makes sure you check the list of participating restaurants before you go.

How to Register for Amex LA Restaurant Week

  1. Visit the American Express LA Restaurant Week  page to register your credit card (remember it must be an Amex cardholder.
  2. Check the Los Angeles Restaurant week site to find participating restaurants.
  3. Make a reservation, dine between July 14-27 and make sure to pay with your registered Amex card.
  4. You should receive a $5 statement credit within a few days.
  5. Make sure you rinse and repeat! There is no limit to the number of times you can redeem this offer after you register.

Tips on How to Maximize Amex LA Restaurant Week

  • Register all of your Amex cards! Remember that authorized user cards count as a separate card since they have a different card number. Make sure you register both your own card and authorized users.
  • There is no limit to the number of times you can use this offer. Basically if you have 10 meals planned, you can get $5 for every single meal!
  • Spread payment across multiple cards. If your bill is $100, just ask the server to apply payment to 4 Amex cards. That way you will earn the $5 on each card and effectively get $20 off your bill! Just make sure that after spreading the payment out that you meet the minimum of $21 on each card.
  • If you don’t have a meal planned, just buy gift cards. Sometimes we may not have plans to visit restaurants on the list during the limited two week period. In that case, just find a restaurant you like that is convenient to drop by, and buy a few…or a dozen of $21 gift cards!
